Under the general or direct supervision of the Camp Coordinator (and /or Camp Director), the Adult Mentor is expected to:

  • Works with youth 6-12 years old.
  • Assigned a clan of up to 12 youth.
  • Assigned a youth mentor to moderately supervise.
  • Assume responsibility for tasks assigned by the Camp Coordinator, to be completed in a safe and timely manner, in partnership with other mentors, interns and camp staff.
  • Drive company van to and from the camp site daily.
  • Ensure that the environment is safe, that the supplies are accounted for and stored. That the campers are involved with and succeeding in the current activity. Assist in regular daily events, including camper registration, transportation (loading vans, monitoring passengers, cleaning out vans), lunch/snacks and lost property.
  • Ensure the safety of campers in scheduled activities - cultural, science and recreation; encourage appropriate participation and alert Director immediately when Program participant (s) behavior warrants action. Disciplining participants is the responsibility of Coordinators and Camp Director; Adult Mentors, Interns and Youth Leaders are expected to intervene immediately only if a physical hazard or danger erupts and should refer every incident and/or behavioral concern to their direct supervisor)
  • Attend all pre-camp training and scheduled staff meetings; abide by Camp and EC/ED standards (dress, punctuality, confidentiality, cell phone etc.). Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality in exercising these tasks and responsibilities.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Camp Coordinator and Camp Director.



  • Prior youth mentoring a plus.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must enjoy working with youth 6-12 yrs old.
  • Must be able to work in the outdoors with fluctuating temperatures.
  • Must be 20 years or older. Must be able to work Full-Time Mon-Fri, from about 7:30 am to 5:30pm from June 24 –July 19, 2019.
  • Must pass drug test and background check. Must have a clean driving record.
